Ultravox - The voice 1982

Ultravox - The voice 1982 Native these words seem to me All speech directed to me I've heard them once before I know that feeling Stranger emotions in mind Changing the contours I find I've seen them once before Someone cries to me Oooh, the look and the sound of the voice Oooh, they try, they try Oooh, the shape and the power of the voice Oooh, in strong low tones Forceful and twisting again Wasting the perfect remains I've felt it once before Slipping over me Oooh, the look and the sound of the voice Oooh, they try, they try Oooh, the shape and the power of the voice Oooh, in strong low tones (Instrumental) Sweetly the voices decay Draw on the lines that they say I'd lost it once before Now it cries to me Oooh

Vienna - Ultravox

Lyrics:___________________________ We walked in the cold air Freezing breath on a window pane Lying and waiting A man in the dark in a picture frame So mystic and soulful A voice reaching out in a piercing cry It stays with you until The feeling has gone only you and I It means nothing to me This means nothing to me Oh, Vienna The music is weaving Haunting notes, pizzicato strings The rhythm is calling Alone in the night as the daylight brings A cool empty silence The warmth of your hand and a cold gray sky It fades to the distance The image has gone only you and I It means nothing to me This means nothing to me Oh, Vienna This means nothing to me This means nothing to me Oh, Vienna

Ultravox - Vienna Top Of The Pops1981

Good quality rare video recorded this from Top Of The Pops in 1981..Classic. British New Wave rock band. They were one of the primary exponents of the British electronic pop music movement of the early 1980s. The band was particularly associated with the New Romantic and New Wave movements. Until 1979, the frontman of Ultravox was John Foxx who left the band to embark on a solo career. Following Foxx's departure, Midge Ure took over as lead singer, guitarist and frontman, and he helped to steer the band to commercial success. Ure left the band in 1987 after establishing a solo career and the group disbanded for a while. A new line-up, led by sole original bandmember Billy Currie, was formed in 1992, but without success. The band's most well known line-up of Currie, Cross, Cann and Ure reformed in 2008 and have toured together since then. The band was formed in 1973 on the initiative of vocalist and songwriter Dennis Leigh, a then Royal College of Art student, and was originally known as Tiger Lily. An initial but incomplete lineup comprised Leigh plus Chris Cross (bass guitar) and Stevie Shears (guitar), with Warren Cann (drums) and Billy Currie (keyboards/violins) joining later in 1974. The group released one single in 1975, Ain't Misbehavin', which contained an eponymous cover of the Fats Waller song, as A-side. Later, the band went through a series of name changes including The Zips, Fire of London, London Soundtrack, and The Damned. Warren Cann, Chris Cross, Billy ...

All credits to birdy974 for originally uploading the clips of Ultravox playing Reading in 1978! I discovered John Foxx era Ultravox through those two videos and decided to clean them up slightly (both the picture and the audio) thanks to TMPGEnc and Adobe Audition! Hope they're as good as the originals!!! Enjoy :) This is obviously not true HD quality, I merely resized them to make full use of YouTube's HD capabilities...

ULTRAVOX - We Stand Alone (1981)

Enjoy the song from the "RAGE IN EDEN" album and the clip, I did make for! (-: Ultravox is a British New Wave rock band. They were one of the primary exponents of the British electronic pop music movement of the late 1970s/early 1980s. The band was particularly associated with the New Romantic and New Wave movements. The band was led by two different frontmen who never played together in the band at the same time. From 1974 until 1979, John Foxx was frontman and main driving force behind Ultravox. Foxx left the band to embark on a solo career. Following Foxx's departure, with the three remaining members in hiatus, Midge Ure took over as lead singer, guitarist, and frontman. Ure revitalized the band and drove it to commercial success lasting until the middle 1980s when the New Romantic and New Wave music scenes waned. Ure left the band in 1987 after establishing a solo career and the group disbanded for a while. A new line-up, led by sole original bandmember keyboard player/violinist Billy Currie, was formed in 1992, but achieved little success. The band's best-known line-up of Currie, bassist Chris Cross, drummer Warren Cann and Ure reformed in 2008 and have toured together since. (wikipedia)

From Their 1978 Album Systems Of Romance. Lyrics: No reply I'm trying hard to somehow frame a reply Pictures, I've got pictures, and I run them in my head When I can't sleep at night Looking out at the white world and the moon I feel a soft exchange taking place Merging with the people on the brains (?) Whirling my face in conversation Slow motion Slow motion Hush, can you feel the trees so far away? Hush, can you feel the breeze of another day? When we held each other close in the night While we wheeled away in our own light Stepping sideways into our own time Such a simple way Slow motion Slow motion And we held each other close in the night While we wheeled away in our own light And some of us from another time And drifted away Slow motion Slow motion
